Carl Paladino is now in the final hours of his campaign for Governor and we are honored to endorse him. This online newspaper understands that Carl has been the victim of the drive-by, Cuomo-friendly, corporate owned media. We know that Mr. Paladino is politically inexperienced and has a few personal flaws; Don't we all.
Our analysis of both candidates, however, shows that Carl Paladino is also the candidate who most clearly comprehends the catastrophe that has engulfed the state of New York and more faithfully stands by the principles of a sound economy that will have to be at the center of any effort to turn New York around.
I have met Mr. Paladino several times, including one in Columbia County, where he was vetted by a variety of Tea Party groups. He spoke fondly of his father calling him over to his deathbed to apologize for being unable to leave him an inheritance of wealth. He recounted his own education and his years practicing law and his success in business. He spoke of the death, a year ago in an automobile accident, of one of his sons, and the way he formed his own commitment to make a run for public life. If he loses this or any other quest, he said: "it won’t be even close to the worst thing that has ever happened to me."
Although Mr. Paladino has tried to focus on the main issues before voters, which are the state’s budget catastrophe and the culture of government entitlement in Albany, the main-stream media did not want to focus on the issues, because it would hurt their man, Andrew Cuomo. It is clear to this on-line newspaper that Carl Paladino is a more honest, intelligent, credible and moral man than Mr. Cuomo or Mr. Cuomo’s political party. Carl Paladino is a student of not only the American Constitution but — and he spoke convincingly on this head — also the constitution of New York State. He comprehends that the state constitution gives the upper hand in the budget process to the governor.
Though Mr. Paladino knows it is very difficult for a Republican to win in a heavily Democratic state, he has the "street smarts" and "grit" that will be needed to win the election and "take out the trash" in Albany.
He has a taxpayer's sympathy for those abandoned by the kind of desolation that has been created by the tax-and-spend policies of the Democrats. He insists he wants but one term and intends, thereafter, to go back to his business. There is a constant barage of misinformation and Cuomo-land hype from the main-stream media that tells the people that Mr. Paladino is going to lose to Mr. Cuomo.
We disagree!. Mr. Paladino was placed on the ballot by the people of New York State through a people's program called Primary Challenge, not by the Republican Party. He won the primary because the people voted for him, not party regulars. A week before the primary election, Mr. Paladino was down 14 points against the party choice candidate, Rick Lazio and he beat him 65% to 35% on election day. The polls were wrong.
The most recent polls have Mr. Paladino again down by 14 points, this time against Mr. Cuomo. Mr. Cuomo is not just running the standard race against a Republican. Mr. Cuomo is running against Republicans, Conservatives, Independence Party members, dis-affected Democrats and a very, very large number of people who have no party allegiance. We think the polls will be wrong again.
Even the Democrats realize that Carl Paladino is the people's choice, that's why they have been using every "dirty trick" in the book against him, even sending friendly newspaper photographers to Carl's 10 year old daughter's bedroom window to take pictures of her. No wonder Carl is "Mad as Hell"!' So are we!
We wholeheartedly endorse Carl Paladino for Governor of New York.
Remember, every vote counts so if you are thinking of sitting the election out, Don't!!!!! Carl needs every single vote. If you want to defeat the corrupt machine in Albany, we urge you to vote for Carl Paladino on Tuesday, November 2nd.

So Cuomo was the one that ordered the Times reporter to take pictures of carl's daughter? People who write things like this should be sued. What a complete waste of time this article is. It is filled with empty rhetoric and more of the same mud throwing that I have come to expect from conservative forums. Can someone please offer me some specific ways Carl will be a better agent of change than Andrew other than this typical useless bs you offer with buzz words like "tax & spend" "career politician" "Albany insider". The act is getting tired. Please tell us just exactly how Carl is going to change this state. List some examples.
