ARTICLES OF FREEDOM: DO NOT GO GENTLY INTO THAT GOOD NIGHT

From the moment I stood in the lobby of the Pheasant Run Hotel and Conference Center in St. Charles Illinois on the morning of November 11, 2009, I knew that this would be an important gathering of American citizens. By the end of the day, more than one hundred and twenty delegates from 48 states had arrived and we began the deliberations of Continental Congress 2009 that would last 11 days. All of the delegates had high hopes that something good would come from this effort; something that would help the America people find their way at this crucial time in our history.

No one could have predicted the things that took place over those eleven days and no one who attended would ever be the same. American citizens from 48 of these united States, from all walks of life, had come together in a people's congress to devise a plan to return America to Constitutional government. Working long into the night, every night, we huddled together in small and large groups, talking about the Constitution, discussing the Constitution, trying to find the way back to constitutional government for this great country.

From this historic gathering, a document entitled the 'Articles of Freedom,' was prepared for the Free People of America, written by the delegates themselves who made up a cross section of the American people. This document doesn't pretend to have all the answers, nor do we expect all Americans to agree to each and every part. We do hope, however, that the Articles of Freedom, will serve as a wake-up call for our elected officials and the free people of America. The document represents a strategic plan that can be used by the people to turn America around and restore our Republic.

The Articles of Freedom are for those Americans who may not be aware of how far we have strayed from our constitutional government and who now need to decide where they stand.

The Articles of Freedom are also for those who are already aware of how far we have strayed, but we hope that this document can be used as the the basis for the rallying call that will bring all freedom loving groups and individual Americans together.

The free people of America are just beginning what may be the most challenging, unrelenting fight of our lives – on all levels --- to protect the America that God gave us. The free people of America are being attacked from a hundred different directions at once by an out-of-control federal government that is growing larger and more intrusive every day. New laws and regulations are being passed by our federal government almost daily, which are slowly and silently taking away more and more of our liberties. If we do nothing, we will someday wake up in a Nation we no longer recognize.

We are reminded that the United States Constitution cannot defend itself. It is up to us, We the People, to defend it, and defend it we must before it is too late. This is not a time to for the American people to sit on the sidelines and watch events unfold before them on TV, the radio, the internet and in the newspapers. There has never been a more important time for Americans to be aware of what is going on in America. We ask that you review this document, educate yourself, become politically active and pray to God for the preservation of this free country.

As the light of freedom and liberty is becoming diminished in this country, I am reminded of the words of Dylan Thomas in his poem entitled 'Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night' which can be applied to conditions in today's America:

"Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light."

I believe that the light of freedom and liberty in our country is beginning to flicker and is gradually being diminished by our own government. As free Americans, we must "rage against the dying of the light" of freedom and liberty in our country with all the strength we can muster. We must be prepared to fight to defend our constitution and we must never be willing to "go gently into that Good Night" of the darkness of socialism and marxism that is destroying our country.

As the Articles of Freedom are reviewed by you, the American people and state and federal elected officials, we expect that there will be recommendations made to the delegates of the Continental Congress to consider individual changes and/or to add new recommendations. Should this be the case, or should political circumstances in the country demand it, the Continental Congress will be reconvened to address these matters.

POLITICALLY CORRECT HOLIDAY GREETINGS

May I offer my freedom and liberty loving friends and associates a Merry Christmas and a Happy Hanukkah and best wishes for a happy and blessed New Year.

To all those progressives, communists and politically correct liberals out there, please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non addictive, gender neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2010, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith, or sexual preference of the wished.
